Organizational Purpose

Under Article III of the Foundation's Articles of Incorporation, we are organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. Our specific mandate includes:

  • (a) Empirical research on technology terminology evolution and legal-technical alignment
  • (b) Publication of reports documenting terminology emergence, definition shifts, and translation gaps across research, legal, industry, and public domains
  • (c) Maintenance of a public database tracking technology concept clustering and adoption patterns
  • (d) Educational workshops and resources for underserved rural communities on technology literacy and AI systems
  • (e) Development and dissemination of open-source research frameworks and tools

Our Commitment

As a nonprofit research foundation, our primary obligation is to the public interest. We operate with strict independence from commercial pressures that often dictate the trajectory of proprietary AI development.

Our research methodologies, datasets, and the Terminology Database are maintained as open resources. We believe that mitigating the risks associated with rapid technological advancement requires transparent, observable systems accessible to researchers, policymakers, and the general public.

Financial Transparency

The Foundation is currently funded through foundational grants and public contributions. Upon receiving final determination of our 501(c)(3) status from the Internal Revenue Service, annual Form 990 filings will be made available in this section.

No part of the net earnings of the Foundation shall inure to the benefit of, or be distributable to, its members, directors, officers, or other private persons, except as reasonable compensation for services rendered.
